For some, art doesn't belong in a fast-food restaurant bathroom. An American tourist in Holland has made an official complaint to McDonalds after having been offended by a mouth-shaped urinal in one of its restaurants in the south east of the Netherlands.
The customer made the complaint to McDonald's head office in the United States.
Giel Pijper, manager of the Dutch McDonalds that had the urinals, stated that is was simply a work of art and that it was not intended to offend.
The urinals, named Kisses, made by Utrecht-based company Bathroom Mania!, have been put up on sale since the complaint.
Meanwhile, Virgin Airways had to also cancel their plans to use the Kisses urinals at their John F. Kennedy airport lounge in New York after fliers complained that they looked like the shape of a woman's mouth.
The designer of the urinals states that the mouth-shaped urinals were meant to look like a cartoon's mouth and not that of a woman's.
