While there was an unexpected uptick in the February sales of existing homes at 2. 9 percent, home foreclosure filings across the U. S. grew by 60 percent and bank seizures more than doubled for the second month of the year. Aside from Americans struggling with the economy, the subprime crisis also hit a vulnerable sector who could do nothing about losing their roof, except whimper. Former and current Franklin County medical officers are facing a lawsuit filed by parents of a North Carolina man mistakenly declared dead. Larry Green was hit by a car on January 2005, his body was placed inside a bag and sent to the morgue, until he was found to be alive, over two hours later. Green's parents accused the medical officers of not properly checking his vital signs, which led to Green sustaining injuries that might be beyond recovery.

SWAT team members kicked down the door of the wrong home, and were reportedly shot at by the surprised homeowner. The man was apparently frightened by the unexpected arrival of the officers, and grabbed the gun for defense. The SWAT's arrival at the wrong house was apparently due to bad information given to police, who were carrying out a search warrant. Two officers were hit by the shots, but their bullet-proof gear saved them from injury.
