Strippers and prostitutes are demonstrating for more legal protection and the decriminalization of prostitution. The protest is being held in downtown Las Vegas on the steps of the city's courthouse. Sex industry workers say all too often, workers claims of rape and violence are ignored by authorities and that anti-human trafficking laws are sometimes unfairly used against sex industry workers.

A woman accused of defrauding a credit union and buying hundreds of items was sentenced to 27 months in prison. "She was a compulsive shopper and was one of the most extreme cases I'd ever seen," Dr. George Perovich, an Allentown psychologist told the AP. Betty Jean Barachie, stole more than $1. 5 million from her job at Northampton-Carbon County Federal Credit Union. She held no contest and pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement and filing a false federal tax return.

Joey Chestnut, a resident of California, set a new world record for eating 47 grilled cheese sandwiches in just 10 minutes, which breaks the old record of 36. Chesnut took first place in the eating contest held at the Las Vegas Golden Palace's World Grilled Cheese Eating Contest on Saturday, June 10. The contest was sponsored by the International Federation of Competitive Eating.

Joey Chestnut went to Las Vegas for an eating competition. He would leave with a world record holder. In a ten minute period, Chestnut finished off 47 grilled cheese sandwiches to set the new world record. The old record was 36 sandwiches.

Laura Lee Medley, who claimed that she was a paraplegic and repeatedly filed lawsuits for noncompliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, turned out to be a con with no physical limitations according to authorities. According to officials, Medley leaped out of her wheelchair and ran for freedom after being arrested by Las Vegas police.
