Laura Lee Medley, who claimed that she was a paraplegic and repeatedly filed lawsuits for noncompliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, turned out to be a con with no physical limitations according to authorities. According to officials, Medley leaped out of her wheelchair and ran for freedom after being arrested by Las Vegas police.

Images of the world's only atomic bombings will go on display at a U. S. museum on nuclear testing as part of a Japanese campaign against nuclear weapons. The exhibition is scheduled for two weeks in August. It will show melted glasses, burnt clothing and pictures of people with severe burns from the collections of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki museums.

Jason Wood overcame a field of 29 competitors to win the southwest Florida regional finals of a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" tournament. He threw a "rock," beating Erin Smith's "scissors" and winning a trip to Vegas.

The 23rd annual Adult Video News (AVN) Awards saw a crush of fans at the red carpet and a higher than ever attendance this year. More than 5,000 people watched the two-hour long awards show at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, reports Reuters.
