Actress and Oscar winner Renee Zellweger can now add her name to a list of notoriously famous people who have outlived their short-lived marriages. Zellweger joins the likes of stars such as Lisa Marie Presley, Drew Barrymore, and Jennifer Lopez, all of who didn't have much luck in the marriage department. Of most recently, Britney Spears held the crown as queen of quickie marriages, marrying childhood friend Jasen Alexander in an impromptu marriage in Las Vegas in January 2004. Their marriage lasted only 55 hours.

A Louisiana woman has sued the Applebee's Restaurant chain, claiming she was traumatized after finding the tip of a human finger in a salad she had ordered. The lawsuit, filed in District Court June 24, claims May Deal Chambers suffered vomiting, stomach aches, headaches and chest pains after finding the extra ingredient in her salad.

Organizers of a memorial for Hunter S. Thompson plan to erect a 150-foot structure to shoot the gonzo journalist's ashes onto his ranch where he kille dhimslef in Februrary. Jon Equis, the event producer working with Thompson's family, says the tower will be 12 feet wide at the base and 8 feet wide at the top, where a cannon will be placed - actor Johnny Depp says he will foot the bill for the structure.

Fort Payne loses its largest birthday cake record after Las Vegas celebrates its 100th birthday. For 15 years, Fort Payne, Alabama proudly held the title of the city to create the world's largest birthday cake. In 1989, the southern city celebrated its 100th birthday with a 128,238-pound cake in the shape of Alabama.
