Vermont State Police said that theyissued a civil ticket for failing to obey a police officer after leading police on a high speed chase to the hospital.
Police reported that she was traveling as fast as 90 to 100 mph.
Her 9-month-old baby son was severely burned by steam from a fallen iron. He suffered second-degree burns to a hand and foot. Burns on the hands and feet of children are considered critical injuries.
According to reports, a trooper tried to pull the woman over however she ignored his lights and sirens. Although the woman was ticketed for the offense, she could have been arrested for failing to obey a police officer.
