Titan arum, the world's largest and smelliest flower on Thursday attracted crowds at Sydney's Royal Botanic gardens. Its biological name, Amorphophallus titanum, means very large, deformed, penis. The flower, which can grow up to three meters in height, has a pale yellow wrinkled center and smells like rotten fish. A crowd of people, however, have lined up at the Royal Gardens on Thursday to get a scent of the flower during an exhibition.

The U. S. Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) has identified the remains of a U. S. serviceman, who has been missing in action (MIA) since the Vietnam War. Lt. Cmdr. James E. Plowman, U. S. Navy, of Pebble Beach, California was returned to his family for burial with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington D. C.

Hanoi, Vietnam (AHN)-In an ironic twist of fate, officials say a Vietnamese man who once appeared on national television to demonstrate his ability to resist electric shocks has been electrocuted while repairing a generator. Nguyen Van Hung, who was in his early 40s, was killed in Tay Ninh province near the Cambodian border while repairing the generator without first cutting the power supply, with a local official telling Reuters, "When alive, he used to demonstrate at our office how he would insert two fingers into the electrical plughole without problems. "

The U. S. Department of Defense says it has identified an airman who has been missing in action (MIA) since the Vietnam War. Air Force Maj. Burke H. Morgan, U. S. Air Force, of Manitou Springs, Colo. , was buried Sept. 7 beside his wife, Mary, at the U. S. Air Force Academy, as part of his U. S. Air Force Academy graduating class' 45th reunion.

Feeling the pressure to do well on their college entrance exams, over 20 students in Vietnam paid up to 50 million dong ($3,125) for wigs and shirts wired to help them cheat, police said Monday. As a result of Hanoi police raids over the weekend, 50 mobile phones, 60 earphones, 150 SIM cards, eight shirts and five wigs were confiscated, according to an officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
