FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (AHN)- A Boca Raton-based developer has announced plans to build a condominium project in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Potential Buyers that would like to meet with a representative to learn more about purchasing a condo, must make a $2,500 deposit; just to schedule a meeting.
The developer is requiring potential buyers to post the deposit, which is refundable if a buyer decides not to purchase, just to secure a "VIP appointment" with the developer's sales team.
"We wanted to avoid people camping out," said Carolyn Block Ellert, co-owner of Premier Sales Group Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, the sales and marketing agent for Sapphire.
"We're also trying to weed out speculators and to be cognizant of people's time so they don't have to wait there all day."
Ellert said she's received about 175 deposits already for the 172 units that will be sold when sales begin in August.
