Police may charge a California couple with neglect after they left their young children at home alone while they went to Las Vegas for the weekend. Police have not been to interview the parents of the 5- and 9-year olds because they have been delayed by bad weather, reports The Associated Press

German passengers, delayed on a British Airlines flight at Berlin's Tegal Airport due to heavy weather conditions, are suing the airline claiming 'false imprisonment' for having to wait inside the airplane for over four hours during the delay. A British Airways spokesman confirms the flight from Berlin to London was stopped, after one of the passengers called police on his cellular phone.

On their way back from Camp David, President George W. Bush's motorcade has been in a minor accident a couple of blocks from the White House. An ambulance traveling with the motorcade in case of emergency couldn't stop in time when the lead vehicles slowed down, crashing into a Chevy Suburban. The Suburban then hit a support van in front of it.

Amid rising summer temperatures, the Beijing city government is encouraging its workers to dress down in efforts to conserve energy. State media reported Friday that government staff has been given the OK to dress casually during internal meetings, so air conditioner usage can be kept to a minimum.
