A 2-pound kitten was finally rescued from a storm drain in West Virginia, with the help of two fire trucks, five firefighters, several animal rescuers and about 250 gallons of water. Firefighters tried coaxing it out with food and encouraging words. They also tried flashing lights and banging tools on the pipe to scare the kitten out, reported CNN.

An Israeli man found a French kiss of his girlfriend a bit too hard when she bit off part of his tongue Thursday. The man got the tongue reattached at the Nahariya Hospital.

A Chinese man has aroused the suspicion of his neighbors and authorities after claiming he can cook eggs on the floor of his home. Liu Yawen said he first learned of the unusual "capability" of his floor while he was cleaning it with a wet cloth when it suddenly gave off steam.

A New Jersey woman is suing Manhattan saloon Calico Jack's Cantina after she fell off a slippery bar and hurt ligaments in her left knee last summer during a "Shake It Like Shakira" contest in Manhattan, NY. Megan Zacher, 22, of Delanco, N. J. , fell at Calico bar on 42nd Street and Second Avenue on July 8, 2006, her attorney, Lawrence Simon, said Tuesday. He said the fall caused a torn knee ligament that required surgery.
