A Clinton man has been accused of drunken driving after he tried to perform unsuccessful driving tricks with his sports utility vehicle onto the ice-covered Mississippi River near Sabula. According to officials with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Steven A. Parker, 51, is accused of driving his car off a boat ramp to do "doughnuts" on Sunday. Unfortunately the ice broke and his vehicle sank in 4 feet of water, about 30 feet from shore.

A study to determine the worst sound in the world ranks the noise of someone vomiting at the top. The study was done by Trevor Cox, a professor of acoustic engineering at Salford University that tallied opinions on 34 sounds at the website www. sound101. org. The online study lasted for a year and garnered 1. 1m votes. Results showed that microphone feedback was considered the second worst sound. Crying babies and the scrapes and squeaks of train wheels came in a tie for the third place.

The close-knit Greenland community in Portsmouth, New Hampshire was devastated as news spread of the unfortunate death of 9-year-old cub scout, Thomas Fogarty, who was participating in the holiday parade on Saturday night. Fogarty was one of approximately 20 cub scouts who was riding on the flatbed trailer with the float being pulled by a truck in the holiday parade celebration. Somehow the child was struck by the float and Fogarty later died at the hospital.

On Tupperware Brands Corp. 's 60th year, the company held a design contest that asked Tupperware sellers and users to be creative with the plastic containers. CEO Rick Goings said the design contest was an effort to "get Tupperware seen in a very different kind of a light. "

Hardcore offroad car users now have a reason to rejoice. A Smart Car with monster tires and four-wheel drive has been developed for them: The 'Forfun' with the body of a normal Smart Fortwo mounted on an all-terrain Mercedes-Benz Unimog 406 series. Mercedes-Benz Greece, together with Greek 4x4 Rally Champion, Stefan Attart, joined forces with in designing and developing the one-off vehicle.
