Indian security forces are currently looking for whiskey that reportedly disappeared from the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's aircraft. Security officers were surprised to discover that premium seals on some of the plane's interior cabinets had also been broken.

Security forces initially suspected the hand of terrorists; but later found out the Prime Minister's whiskey had been stolen. The incident happened on Singh's flight to Germany in April.

Government security forces suspect the flight crew pilfered the whiskey from the catering compartments.

Security X-rays of the crew's baggage showed 29 bottles of whiskey. The pilot's bag alone contained five bottles. The crew members denied the wrongdoing saying they bought the whiskey in their bags.

The Hindustan Times quotes Ajay Prasad, India's Civil Aviation Ministry as saying, "The Air India management takes two months to send a note to the ministry on the serious security lapse that took place on a VIP flight."

He continues, "It is indicative of the fact that such matters are not taken seriously."
