Manjula, the wife of the Taliban militia victim K. Suryanarayana, made an attempt to commit suicide and is in critical condition.

She is undergoing treatment at the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. Manjula swallowed 200ml of a cleansing agent in her bathroom. She then collapsed vomiting blood.

According to Dr. D. Reddy, the acid that she consumed has destroyed the mucous membrane. Consequently, she has abdominal bleeding.
