Burger Brawl: Texas Rep Claims Burger Birthplace

A State Representative, R-Texas is battling with a Connecticut restaurant owner who claims the birthplace of the burger. Betty Brown, R-Texas, proposed a resolution naming Athens, Texas the birthplace of the hamburger. She said a resident of the town owned a luncheonette in the 1880s, which sold the first hamburger.

School In Eastern England To Build Straw Classroom

A village school in Norfolk, East Anglia in eastern England is planning to build a new classroom made entirely from straw bales. The pupils at St. Andrew's school, have designed the environmentally-friendly room in a project on Celtic round houses. The school has 59 students from 2-years-old to 11. The school has been given permission to construct the straw classroom.

Stolen Baby Jesus Dolls Found In Woman's Lawn

A woman found thirty-two baby Jesus dolls lined up along the fence on her lawn. The dolls were stolen from nativity scenes throughout the neighborhood. Fourteen of the dolls rightful owners picked up their dolls at St. Symphorosa Church on Saturday. According to AP, the Rev. Marcel Pasciak said the woman was one of his parishioners at St. Symphorosa and "panicked" when she saw the dolls.

50 Foot Dive For $20? Worth It!

A Florida man figured that a 50-foot plunge was worth $20 when one is "broke. " Mark Giorgio, 47, was walking across the U. S. 41 bridge over the Manatee River Monday, when wind blew a $20 bill out of his hand, over the rail and into the river. Girgio followed his money and plummeted 50 feet into the river. He then pursued his bill and swam about 100 yards to fish it from the water.

" In an article for USA Today, Schweizer writes, "if Al Gore is the world's role model for ecology, the planet is doomed. For someone who says the sky is falling, he does very little. "
