A 19-month-old survives, after falling from a second-story window, suffering only minor injuries thanks to some curtains and an air conditioning unit. According to police, while playing with another child a screen gave way causing the toddler to fall through. One neighbor's story that the other child pushed the boy has not been confirmed.

Three painters are rescued from a high-rise condominium after they are left dangling. Local media reports fire rescue came to the aid of one man left dangling by his safety harness, and another man was straddling the building's ledge after the scaffolding they were standing on broke. A third man was rescued using a construction bucket.

A man who repeatedly tossed bottles out of his apartment window in Hong Kong is ordered to leave, becoming the first tenant evicted under a new government method to deter litter bugs. Yuen Kin-man previously spent four months in jail for throwing bottles from his 25th-floor apartment. Housing official Lau Kai-hung says Kin-man was given one month to move out of his subsidized apartment before he is evicted by force. A government statement says Yuen has also been caught twice dumping domestic waste.

A driver stopped for speeding tried to distract a drug-sniffing dog by throwing dog biscuits from his car, state police say. Troopers stopped Jong H. Kim, 23, as the dog walked around the car, Kim threw dog biscuits and debris out the window toward the dog in an apparent attempt to distract it, police say.
