A school bus driver, whose name has not been released, was fired for allegedly flipping her middle finger at President Bush's motorcade with students aboard last June. This week, according to an AP report, the woman filed a union grievance to get her job back. The 43-year-old bus driver was bringing students home from a field trip to a local zoo when a motorcade carrying President Bush and Republican Dave Reichert overtook them.

A political party formed by Dutch pedophiles in May wants to run in the national elections next month, but the party's secretary, Norbert de Jonge, says he doubts the Brotherly Love, Freedom and Diversity party (PNVD) will be able to get enough support. The PNVD says it wants to lift the taboo on pedophilia, and says it is in favor of lowering the age of consent from 16 to 12 and legalizing child pornography and bestiality.

After a man reported to Italian authorities that his reclusive sister was ill, Italian officials entered her apartment and found a woman in her late fifties who weighed about 66 pounds and had hair seven feet long. She had not left her apartment in 26 years. Officials said the stench was so horrible they had to wear respirators. She had the jammed the shutters shut and and sealed the windows with adhesive tape.

A door falls off a Brazilian jet, and crashes next to a supermarket shortly after departure from Sao Paulo. The TAM airplane was able to land safely, despite the gaping hole. None of the 79 passengers on the Fokker 100 plane were injured.
