A 91-year-old man from Florida has reportedly challenged fitness maestro and former 92-year-old boxing champion Jack LaLanne for a boxing match. The challenger, Roland Fortin, who is a former boxing "cut man", said he thought of the four-round bout at the Tropical Gym in Pompano Beach, where he works out during the winter in Florida. Fortin's challenge was published in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in a half-page ad that was suggested by gym owner Troy Eckonen for Super Bowl Sunday. The purpose of this challenge is to encourage older people to get into shape.

Thousands gathered in North Dakota over the weekend in an attempt to break the world record for making the most snow angels. More than 8,900 people were at the state Capitol Saturday to make the angels and reclaim the record. North Dakota held the original snow angel record that was set in 2002 with 1,791 snow angels. But last year, Michigan took the record away with 3,784. So, North Dakota planned a comeback.

Snowboarders in Romania blocked traffic when they converged on Romania's national weather institute to complain about the lack of snow which have hampered their snowboarding plans. The unusual sit down protest held in the Romanian capital city of Romania ended peacefully when weather forecasters assured their concerns "would be passed on to a higher authority. "

A village school in Norfolk, East Anglia in eastern England is planning to build a new classroom made entirely from straw bales. The pupils at St. Andrew's school, have designed the environmentally-friendly room in a project on Celtic round houses. The school has 59 students from 2-years-old to 11. The school has been given permission to construct the straw classroom.
