Animals are normally expected to exude bizarre behaviors. But this one's definitely for the record: A rare black swan is trying to woo a plastic swan paddle boat for hire on a German lake. Biologists says that the Black Australian Swan is definitely showing all the typical signs of love such as circling around its plastic lover, staring endlessly at it and making crooning noises.

Pope Benedict on Wednesday wore an old Saturno hat in St. Peter's Square, Vatican during his weekly audience with the public. The Holy Father surprised tens of thousands of people who gathered at the square by wearing an odd, "wide-brimmed" red hat while on his "pope mobile. " The hat is commonly known in Italian as a "saturno" due to its resemblance of the planet Saturn.

Penguins stranded on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro are getting help from Brazil's air force and navy. The flightless birds will hop a ride on a plane carrying equipment from an Antarctic naval base to the south of Brazil. They will then go on board a naval ship that will release them into the ocean, near their Antarctic home.

A Brazilian military spokesman says the National Navy and Air Force will transport at least 100 stranded penguins to Antarctica next month. The birds were found on Brazil's Rio de Janeiro beaches. Every year, penguins arrive from the Antarctic Circle on the Brazilian beaches. They are transported on ice blocks that melt off the shore of Brazil.

The "Polar Bear Jail" in the Canadian town of Churchill will be expanding to house more wayward carnivores. According to press reports, the facility was built in 1980 in the polar bear capital of the world.
