In an one of its kind festival, more than 300 people on Saturday gathered at Mama's Place Bar and Grill in Elderon, Wisconsin, and enjoyed a feast comprising of some unusual delicacies - deep-fried lamb and bull testicles. While some may consider the dish a food taboo, the attendees of the ninth annual Testicle Festival at Mama's say it is just as tasty as any other food.

Buster Hoffman, 50, of Kronenwetter was one of those who paid $5 for all-you-can-eat goat, lamb and bull testicles.

Hoffman, who had previously tried goat testicles at an eatery in Denver says its just a matter of trying it out for the first time.

"Once you get over the mental (aspect) of what you're eating, it's just like eating any other food, and it tastes good," he told the Wausau Daily Herald.

According to Festival founder Nancy Fenske, the event has been surging every year since it started 12 years ago and adds that they fry up to 100 pounds of testicles for the festival.
