Villagers at a southern Philippine community reported that a ghoul has killed their livestock. Panicked local residents at Barangay (village) Lower Manongol in Kidapawan City, southern Philippines say that a ghoul, which takes a human form by day but turns into a blood-sucking and flesh-eating monster as darkness falls, was responsible for the killing of three goats who were seen without its inner organs, including hearts and livers.

A new bill in the Massachusetts state legislature could subject parents who spank their children to criminal abuse charges. If enacted, the law would become the first in the country outlawing the practice. Massachusetts nurse Kathleen Wolf drafted the bill, which includes exceptions for "minor physical contact" and "the reasonable use of force. "
