Police is searching for a Montana woman named Esther Reed, who allegedly assumed identity of another missing South Carolina woman Brooke Henson, to get admission into two Ivy League colleges - Harvard and Columbia.

Brooke Henson's family in South Carolina was overjoyed when police told them Brooke was found after ten years and was living in Manhattan. However, the family's joy was short lived when they discovered the truth.

Another woman named Esther Reed reportedly assumed the identity of Brooke Henson as they both were similar in many ways. Both the women were of same age group and hailed from small towns. Also, they had been reported missing at the same time.

The Henson's however believed that Brooke was killed by some acquaintance but police has not been able to find her body. "I had pretty much come to terms that she was dead," CNN quotes Edna Strom, Reed's sister as saying.

Reed, a high school dropout from Townsend, Montana was admitted to both Harvard and Columbia as Brooke Henson. Jon Campbell, an investigator with the Travelers Rest Police Department told CNN, "She was able to get some true identification using fake identification and she was able to take the SAT and GED in our victim's name and she used those to apply to Columbia."

Reed also had relationships with many military officers and received money from outside the country. Though she did not use Henson's identity for any other purpose, police is investigating is she could be a spy.
