A woman accused of hitting a dog breeder 30 times in the head with a dead puppy has been charged with two misdemeanors but was reimbursed for the $100 puppy.
Lisa Lynn Hopfer, 33, was told by a veterinarian that her newly purchased Chihuahua puppy was only four weeks old and too young to be away from its mother. Before she could return the puppy it died.
Outraged, Hopfer forced her way into the home of dog breeder Linda Hulsey, 33, and demanded another puppy. When Hulsey fought Hopfer back onto her porch, she said the woman began beating her with the dead puppy. Then she reported that Hopfer drove away waving the dog out of her car's sunroof threatening Hulsey.
According to court reports, it didn't end there. Hulsey reportedly said that Hopfer also made threatening calls to her and her family after the incident.
Hopfer was also charged with trespassing and third degree assault after the June 7 incident. Hulsey reportedly had to go to the hospital for her bruises and said she is upset about being accused of selling the puppy too early.
