In what could be the first ever incident of its kind, Ravenna police have fined a drunk driver, not behind the wheel but behind the handlebars.

Brenda Jones ran a red light and ran into a car at a busy intersection on her Roadmaster bicycle.

"I got on the bike and I went down to get another beer," Jones explained on WKYC-TV.

The Ravenna police have charged her for running a red light, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Jones, who doesn't own a car or have a driver's license admits tonbeing drunk when she got into the accident.

She has at least four drug or alcohol-related convictions in Portage County and is due back in court next month.
