Police in Delray Beach, Florida say a woman trying to outrun officers in a stolen SUV crashed into a row of honey bee hives, according to NBC 6.
The driver was only slightly injured in the crash, but she was stung 16 times when she got out of the vehicle.
The owner of the bees was nowhere to be found at the time of the accident so a beekeeper was called in to calm the buzzing.
"There are probably 20 or 30,000 per hive, and I don't know how many hives are there," beekeeper Brian Moore said to NBC 6. "That's quite a few bees and they're upset right now."
The city of Delray Beach is checking whether the bees are on the property legally, according to the news agency.
