According to authorities, a 19 year old woman might want to wait to get her driver's license after driving a borrowed car into a canal before she was scheduled to take her driver's license test.

A Broward Taxi Co. cab driver, who is also the woman's neighbor, had agreed to let the woman practice driving around the parking lot in his taxi before she took the test.

Pompano Beach spokeswoman Sandra King says, "He said the next thing he knew she was driving through the bushes and into the canal. He ran over and pulled her out of the car."

The woman was not hurt in the accident and no charges are pending at this time.

King says, "It was purely an accident. Obviously, she did not take or pass her driver's test."

According to an AP investigation, the identities of the woman and the cab driver were not immediately available.
