A woman was left surprised when a dog was found dead in the refrigerator of her new apartment on Saturday, in the southwestern town of Trossingen, Germany.

Police later heard reports about a missing greyhound pup in the town near Stuttgart. The pup owner who lived in the apartment earlier said that the greyhound died of natural causes several months earlier.

However he did not have time to give it a proper burial before moving out of the apartment. The man now faces prosecution for violating the "Tierkoerperbeseitigungsgesetz" (animal cadaver removal law in German).
