A fiancee found out that her husband-to-be was killed in Iraq, then hours later received her engagement ring in the mail.

U.S. Army Sgt. Yevgeniy Ryndych, 24, was killed on Wednesday in Ramadi, and on the day his financee found out, she got the package.

According to Yevgeniy's brother, Ivan Ryndych, "He had proposed over the phone from Iraq within the past month. He bought an engagement ring over the Internet."

According to Ivan, his brother was serving his country on his second tour of duty in Iraq, despite being born in Ukraine.

Yevgeniy was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Carson, Colo. When his unit deployed a second time to Iraq, Ivan recalls his brother said, ""I don't want to leave them behind."
