A Colombian woman gives birth to a 15-pound baby, the largest in 40 years in Madrid's main maternity hospital.

The 38-year-old, identified only as Rosario, has gestational diabetes, which has been known to cause women to give birth to unusually large babies. This streak, however, is not unique to Rosario, as her first daughter, now nine, was born weighing in at 10.2 pounds.

The new baby's father, Juan Carlos, says with another woman he had a daughter that weighed 17 pounds at birth. He added to reporters, "They told me it is genetic."

The 15-pound Arancha was born February 13 at the Hopspital Universitario la Paz via Caesarean section.
