A 47-year-old woman from Indiana, who claimed to be his 25-year-old son's wife in a court appearance, is now sentenced to 30 days in jail to help his son. The incident took place in Vanderburgh Superior Court when the son, Christopher Crowe pleaded guilty to four felony counts namely residential entry and domestic battery and two counts of resisting law enforcement.

According to AP reports, the son was sentenced to time served and a year's probation, and was to be released on his own recognizance Aug. 1. As a routine, the judge asked defense attorneys and prosecutors if victims agree with plea deals.

This meant getting the wife's opinion and that was when Rebecca Crowe stood up and claimed to be Crowe's wife and expressed her consent with the plea deal. The actual wife was not in the courtroom.

A new public defender who had not met her thought her to be a little old and then the photographs of Crowe's wife and mother were reviewed. She was immediately arrested on a contempt of court warrant.
