A judge decided a woman could keep a $40,000 engagement ring after she found out her soon-to-be husband was still married and trolling for other woman on the Internet.
Brian Callahan was in the process of divorcing his wife when he proposed to Dana Clyburn Parker with a 3.41-carat diamond ring in 2002. This came only one month after he received notice in June that his divorce would not be final for 90 days.
Judge Rolando Acosta ruled that since he was married when he proposed the agreement to marry Parker was void.
Callahan sued in 2003 to get the ring or $40,000 and his personal property back. The judge did order Parker to give back Callahan's property but to keep the ring.
