A Brazilian woman whose husband held her and others hostage at gunpoint for 10 hours has decided to reunite with him.
"I forgave him out of love ... I believe it was an irrational act and that we can resume our life in peace," Brazil's Globo news agency quoted Cristina Ribeiro, 35, as saying on Monday.
Andre Ribeiro da Silva was paroled in April and is awaiting trial, according to the New York Post.
Ribeiro da Silva took her and others hostage on Nov 10. He finally released the hostages over the course of the 10 hour standoff by negotiating with police.
During the incident he accused his wife of cheating on him and said he would kill her and then himself.
The couple has three children and has been married for 10 years. They have decided to live together again after being separated for four months before the incident.
"I hear people warning me that he will do it again, but we've talked and grown into the idea of getting back together," the woman said.
