A 45-year-old woman from Pierce County, Washington has reportedly tied a record for the amount of alcohol in her blood by measuring a blood-alcohol content of 0.50 two hours after she was arrested for on charges of driving drunk.
Rebecca G. Lingbloom's blood-alcohol level was more than six times the legal limit of .08 and ties the mark for the highest level ever found in a person's blood by technicians at the Washington State Patrol's toxicology laboratory in Seattle.
According to AP reports, a King County driver also registered a .50 on a blood test back in 2000. There is no knowledge as of now of any other higher level recorded by a state breath-testing machine.
Other than these two cases, last April, a former Seattle police detective blew a .47 on a hand-held breathalyzer, which was considered a record by some authorities.
According to court records, the record-holding woman pleaded not guilty Wednesday to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol on May 10. The affidavits alleges that Lingbloom nearly hit a pedestrian that day and was seen swerving all over the road.
