A mother threw her baby to safety after their apartment building burst into flames, according to an ABC news report.

The fire broke out on the top floor of the building near 83rd and Ingleside, in Chicago, Wednesday night.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries when the stairwell they were on collapsed.

A mother trapped inside building dropped her baby from a window. The child was not injured.

Two other women jumped from fourth floor windows.

They are all in good condition.

An investigation is underway into what started the fire.
