A woman who called off her wedding six weeks before the event turned her would-be reception into a charity benefit.
Kyle Paxman, 29, had found out that her fiance was cheating on her.
"I'm really just trying to turn it around and make something positive out of it," said Paxman.
The 180-guest wedding had been planned at the Basin Harbor Club on Lake Champlain.
The band, photographer and florist were cancelable but Paxman could not obtain a refund for the reception and venue.
The reception will be turned into a benefit event for the Vermont Children's Aid Society and international relief organization CARE USA.
One hundred twenty five women were invited for drinks and a gourmet four-course dinner. Paxman hope the guests will give donations to the charities.
