A 78-year-old woman is arrested after lacing a can of cat food with rat poison to ensure her neighbor's cats stayed away from her backyard. Myrtle Maly has been charged with two felony counts of animal mistreatment after admitting to officers to placing D-Con rodent killer in a can of "Special Kitty Salmon Dinner" cat food. The woman set the trap for her neighbor's cats, Tangerine and Tiger, after the two snuck into her backyard and attacked some birds.

Authorities say woman shoplifter in abandons her three-month-old baby after being caught stealing from a supermarket. A police spokesman in the town of Offenbach just south of Frankfurt says, "When the security man told the woman to enter his office so he could check her identification, the perpetrator took off, leaving behind the baby and the pram. "

The Associated Press report that grapefruit makes women appear younger. A study by the Smell and Taste Institute in Chicago was conducted to determine what makes a women smell young. Institute director Dr. Alan Hirsch reportedly smeared several middle-aged woman subjects with broccoli, banana, spearmint leaves, lavender and grapefruit.
