The "miracle" woman from Egypt, who gave birth to septuplets on Saturday, hopes to soon be able to hold her newborn babies, doctors said Sunday. The 27-year-old Ghazala Khamis delivered four boys and three girls, who are reported to be in stable condition, at the el-Shatbi hospital in the coastal Egyptian city of Alexandria on Saturday.

Several New York City residents pitched in Thursday to lift a five-ton bus off a dying pregnant woman, saving her unborn baby in the process. New York City Police Department traffic agent Donnette Sanz, 33, was crossing a Bronx street when a van struck her, knocking her into the path of a 10,000-pound school bus. She was run over and pinned under the bus.

Chinese authorities deported on Sunday and Monday six Canadian activists and even used the credit card of one of the deportees to buy his plane ticket. Steve Andersen, 28, and a member of Students for a Free Tibet, arrived in Edmonton Monday evening. Undercover agents arrested, questioned, and deported him and a German-Tibetan woman on Sunday for unfurling a Tibetan flag near Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

FBI agents arrested a Houston woman Thursday who refused to return five children victims of Hurricane Katrina to their mother and recovered the kids she allegedly kidnapped. Rhonda Tavey, 44, was at her mother's home in northwest Houston when authorities arrested her, her attorney, Dick DeGuerin, told Chron. com. She is now detained at the Harris County Jail without bail and will appear in court Friday to face charges of kidnapping.

A convicted murderer is on the loose after a corrections officer helped her escape prison Monday. Sara Pender, 29, was serving a 110-year sentence for the 2000 murders of two roommates. But she befriended correction officer Scott A. Spitler, 41, and according to Indiana's Wish TV 8, Spitler has admitted to conspiring with Pender on her escape, having sexual relations with her, and hiding her in a prison vehicle and smuggling her out of the medium-security prison.
