A woman from St. Petersburg in Florida mysteriously survived without any injury, when the bra she was wearing stopped a stray bullet fired into the air, from entering her body.
Debbie Bingham was on a visit to her family on New Year's Eve when a .45 caliber bullet fired into the air by an unknown person, hit her left shoulder when it fell back down to Earth.
Fortunately for Bingham, the bullet struck the strap of her bra which prevented it from penetrating her body.
But she said she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder when the bullet hit her.
She told Tampabays10.com, "I grabbed my shoulder and noticed I was bleeding. And then I pulled my blouse back and saw the big hole and realized that it was a gun shot. The bullet was halfway inside of my bra, and the other half right on the tip of my skin."
The police said the identity of the person who fired the gun remains unknown. It is illegal under Florida laws to fire a gun into the air.
Bingham was taken to the hospital where she needed five stitches for her injury but said she believes the bra helped stopped the bullet.
She adds, "It was a very cheap bra. it wasn't very expensive and I'd love to have a couple more of those bras."
