An American Airlines flight was grounded Monday after the passengers smelled sulfur burning. Investigators found that a woman lit the matches to mask bodily gas.

Airport spokeswoman Lynne Lowrance said, "About 6:30 this morning, an American Airlines pilot called the FAA tower reporting that passengers were smelling fumes like matches being struck within the cabin."

The pilots decided to make an emergency landing enroute to Texas.

All 99 Passengers and five crewmembers were taken off the plane and investigators searched the cabin. They found evidence of a struck match under one passenger's seat and brought her in for questioning.

The woman admitted to lighting the matches to hide her flatulence. The woman was released without being charged but was not allowed back on the flight.
