A 45-year-old convicted rapist was sentenced 225 years in prison for three counts of indecent exposure last year. Robert Stearns was found guilty in a jury trial earlier this year of exposing himself to three different women walking through two different Hamilton, Montana parks. Stearns was sentenced Tuesday to 75 years in prison on each of the three counts of indecent exposure, to run consecutively. "I've never seen such a harsh punishment recommended for a nonviolent crime," said Stearns' attorney James Clapp.

Couples were less likely to be likeable when the woman was more verbally assertive, and silence could well be a golden rule for her, according to a study at the Green Mountain College. "In couples in which the woman is more verbally assertive, and the man more submissive, the relationship tends to suffer," said Dr. Jennifer Sellers, assistant professor of psychology at the college.

Courthouse workers for a renovation project discovered the headstone of a man that died in 1874. The headstone was said to have belonged to an Isaac Cobb, who apparently died at the age of 72.

Nicole Kidman was the first to sign a United Nations movement to prevent violence against women, saying, "Think of it, actually being a woman puts you at risk. " "One in three women may suffer from abuse and violence in her lifetime. This is an appalling human rights violation, yet it remains one of the invisible and under-recognized pandemics of our time," Kidman said.
