In a bizarre incident, people are injured, thrown on the pavement and beaten with folding chairs, after a rush to buy used laptops at $50 turns into a stampede in Virginia. "This is total, total chaos," 19-year-old Latoya Jones, who lost one of her flip-flops in the commotion.

A 39-year-old man wakes up to find his testicles in a padlock, according to the Portsmouth Herald. Police report the man is intoxicated when the arrive at the scence July 30 at about 3:40 am.

Drunken wood pigeons have become a nuisance for bird rescue staff in New Zealand, with about 30 having to be rescued in the last two months. Robyn Webb, of the Whangarei Native Bird Rescue Center says, the kereru birds have been eating guava berries, which have fermented and caused the birds to become intoxicated.
