In August, what started as a joke by an Irish bookmaker, will become reality.

As an April Fool's joke, Paddy Powder had floated the idea of holding the first ever World Strip Poker Championship.

However, since the joke received so much interest and hundreds of individuals wanting to participate, the Dublin based company is turning it into a reality.

On August 19 and taking place in London, 200 poker players will risk baring all to become the first World Strip Poker Champion.

A place in the Guinness Book of Records, a "Golden Fig Leaf" trophy and $18,500 are the prizes that the winner will receive from the competition.

Paddy Powder said about the tournament, "this will be the most fun you can have with your clothes on -- or off!"
