At least 5,000 residents were evacuated here after a British World War II bomb was found Tuesday afternoon at a construction site west of the capital city.

Bomb experts said the bomb was found in a garden at a house during construction in western Wilmersdorf district.

According to police, bomb experts found a way to move the bomb to a desolate location so it could be detonated.

Demolitions experts closed a local highway and blew up the bomb on Wednesday morning.
