A 16-year-old Indian ring neck parakeet A.J. has become an Internet video star after his video appeared on YouTube and other internet sites. His proud trainer, David Cota says A.J. can easily plunge a tiny basketball on a tiny court, roll over, shake his leg and use a tiny putter to sink putts on a miniature golf course.
A.J.'s popularity has helped him reach the "Tonight" show and win an "outrageous bird" viral video contest sponsored by MagRack, an on-demand television network.
The 5-inch tall bird's skill has also impressed a 13-member celebrity panel including actor Carol Spinney. According to AP reports Cota, 38, became the owner of the bird after his college girlfriend left it to care for.
Cota and A.J. have also been on with Jay Leno and on David Letterman's "Stupid Pet Tricks."
