A leading budget carrier in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific, announced free domestic seats to its loyal patrons on Christmas.
In a statement, Cebu Pacific said the promo will run from December 25 to 26 or until its 100,000 seats have been sold out and travelers can use their tickets from February 1 to March 18, 2009.
The company said the promo is exclusive for "Go Lite" passengers and to those who have no check-in baggage and is absolutely free. However, passengers who have check-in luggage, will pay only P200 or around $4.
International travelers will be charged the corresponding government taxes, the company said.
Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution, this is the first time they are offering zero fuel and insurance surcharge for international passengers.
Iyog said the promo is the company's way of celebrating the Yuletide and at the same time, thank its loyal patrons who have been flying their aircraft for travel.
She said those who want to avail of the free seats must book fast online.
Cebu Pacific is the largest domestic carrier in the Philippines servicing 27 local and 15 international destinations.
