A 36-year-old man from Stevens Point, Wisconsin had some really bad luck when his car was stolen twice on the same day. York Heiden's pearl-colored 1990 Audi Quattro was stolen from a grocery store parking lot on April 27 when the thief found the keys inside the car.

Heiden, who owns River West Motorwerks, an automotive repair shop, quickly alerted all his friends, one of whom saw the car about a block from the grocery store.

However, the thief had taken the car keys along with him. So Hieden took out some of the belongings from the car and asked his friend to disable the car's ignition while he left to get a spare set of keys from home.

The mechanic removed one coil wire but forgot that the car had a two-coil system. Thus the car now had only four of the eight cylinders disabled but was still in a position to be stolen a second time.

When Heiden came back to the spot where he had left his car, he was shocked to see it disappear again. "I was speechless. All I could do was hold the key up in my hand and look at it," he said.

However, the car was found by police on Wednesday in the same neighborhood but this time it had a broken headlight and a piece of interior trim damaged. A relieved Heiden now says, "Don't leave your keys in the ignition. And if you find it, do not leave it."
