Dutch customs police on Friday nabbed a Latin American woman from Suriname as she tried to smuggle 3.3 pounds of cocaine into the country in a plaster cast on her leg.
The woman, whose name is not released, showed anxiety and nervousness when the police officers checked her passport. Also, the thickness of the cast on her leg aroused suspicion after she showed two different letters from a doctor that did not appear genuine.
According to AP reports, a police sniffer dog was brought to the scene that indicated that the cast contained suspicious elements. When the woman was taken to hospital, an X-ray revealed that she had drugs but no fractures.
Police arrested the woman on the scene and she is now expected to face smuggling charges.
